I’m easily distracted.
“oh look a butterfly” in the middle of a serious conversation? that’s me.
And it doesn’t mean that I don’t care about what is discussed. I do and I’m listening, but you know, this butterfly was so beautiful, I had to point it out.
My brain is weird I know.
So I tend to struggle to keep focus for a long time on the same thing and this got me thinking.
Because exploring is great but building is a necessity and more fulfilling in the long term.
And that all this is about in this newsletter: building a lifestyle of freedom.
So what can I do to keep myself building for the long run and not jumping to the next butterfly?
In my experience, it’s having a clear vision and goals.
Because I can use them to remind me what matters the most to me (not the butterflies in my case) and bring my focus back to it.
That’s with this realization in mind that I created the Focus Circle, at least the first version drafted in the bus this morning (thanks to the tldraw plugin in Obsidian!):
I put only 3 life/business areas but you can add more of course. It’s an illustration of the concept and if you like it, I can craft a better version with a fill-it-yourself version.
Actually, this could become a whole productivity system… 🤔
Now, I need to think about it a bit more but I would welcome any suggestions.
With Love,
Frank
